Happy Birthday, Michael Fassbender: 35 Things To Love About Him
It's been a busy couple of years for Michael Fassbender (and his p****). I'm not one to harbor a hardcore celebrity crush, but ever since Fassy took on the role of Carl Jung (with whom I'm obsessed) in "A Dangerous Method," I was intrigued. And then I saw "Shame," and I was blown away by his many gifts and talents. I'm talking about his chilling portrayal of Brandon, not his full-frontal nude scene. Although, he was riveting naked. Being that today is his 35th birthday, I felt totally justified in putting together a gratuitous slideshow of sexy pictures of him, along with a list of reasons that justify my crush. Starting with:
1. This is what he looks like wearing nothing but bed sheets.
Click on for 34 more reasons Fassy is a God.
2. He looks fantastic when he sweats.
3. His accent. His parents are German, he grew up in Ireland and lives in London now. So, his accent is kind of Irish-ish. Hot.
4. He can wear a tank top without it looking lame.
5. He looks good from every angle.
6. His ego is not as overinflated as it probably should be. He went though a period where he wasn't sure if he was going to make it as an actor. He worlds odd jobs like bar tending and telemarketing. During that time he adopted a mantra: "I'm good enough." Aww.
7. I love a man with a mantra
8. He's actually goofy. His friends have said he can be caught doing his own rendition of Warren G's "Regulate." This means we would have a good time at karaoke together. I do a mean "I Like Big Butts" by Sir Mix-A-Lot.
9. He's nice too. The CEO of Fox Films calls him a "Heisman Trophy triple threat" because his is a movie star, a talented actor and a great guy.
10. He looks perfect lounging on a couch.
11. He can pull off no shoes.
12. And no socks.
13. He's from humble beginnings. His parents both own restaurants, so when he moved to London at age 19 to become an actor, he was poor as dirt. He says he lived in a studio apartment with a hole in the window. Poor dude was cold. I wish I could have been there to help keep him warm.
14. He goes all the way there when he's playing a role, even if it means starving himself to lose weight (as he did in "Hunger") or showing off his legendary member in a full-frontal scene. As he put it: "It was important to go all out, not take shortcuts there, and to be sort of naked in every respect. Otherwise, I don't think the film would have worked." I couldn't agree more.
15. He dedicated his full-frontal nudity scene to his mom. "I think it's the idea of male frontal nudity. It just baffles me: Women can parade around naked all the time, but the guy conveniently has his pants on. I remember my mom always complaining about that to me, saying, "This is such bullshit, it's always the women who are naked" ... so I did this one for you, Mom!" I find this statement very feminist.
16. He seems really comfortable with his sexuality. Enough to wear lipstick.
17. I don't mind him in lipstick.
18. He's an adrenaline junkie -- a lover of motorcycles and skydiving. In all fairness, I hate those sorts of things, but I think he could break me out of my comfort zone.
19. He played Carl Jung, who is my philosophical/psychological idol.
20.He made wire rim glasses and talk of "transference" sexy.
21. His legendary p****. George Clooney recently joked that Fassy (that's his official nickname) could play golf with it behind his back. Charlize Theron said that she was available to work with it any time. I echo her sentiments.
22. With all the praise given to his p****, he still thinks it's no big deal. Oh, is he humble.
23. He knows how to get a close shave, but looks exceptional with or without facial hair.
24. His "Jane Eyre" co-star Mia Wasikowska called kissing him "fun." That sounds like an understatement.
25. He can fence.
26. I can now imagine him fighting a duel in my honor.
27. He looks amazing in white.
28. He's sensitive and strong enough to play Byronic hero, Mr. Rochester.
29.And he looked damn good in that period clothing, which is hard to pull off.\
30. I personally found him more erotic than Mr. Darcy, which is quite a feat.
31. His pants seem to be undone most of the time … as they should be.
32. He looks really good taking his pants off.
33. And his shirt is off a lot.
34. His body.
35. Holy s$#!, his body.
