- WORK has just been completed on the latest addition to the D1 bar scene, the Good Bits. Since first opening its doors last October, with a rollicking set from Hollywood producer David Holmes, it has continued building up a steady fan base. More recently, the venue played host to stars including The Saturdays, Michael Fassbender, members of Depeche Mode and Damian Dempsey. It has also just launched a new Stock Exchange concept, where drink prices fluctuate depending on popularity.

http://not-alone.livejournal.com/107229.html

The latest issue of 'Empire' has an article about the release of the LOTR Trilogy on Blu-ray. They asked various celebrities and people who work at 'Empire' to name their favourite moment from the Trilogy. For those who are rather concerned about what Guillermo del Toro has planned for 'The Hobbit', his answer could be either encouraging ... or worrying

This is what GdT said: "My favourite moment was in Fellowship, when our beloved Hobbits get off the road and are hiding precariously from the Dark Rider. The ominous tone, the POV of the road, distorted by an alien force, the shocking details: nail-transfixed hooves, the mount's reddish, cadaverous eyes, bugs crawling out of the Nazgul's body, the sniffing noises as the evil creature looms above our heroes. A perfect scene. Absolute immersion."

When I first started reading that I thought it was great that he'd chosen a scene involving the hobbits, I loved that he referred to them as 'our beloved Hobbits' but as I read on it appeared that he'd completely misinterpreted part of that scene. Either that, or I've misunderstood it all these years. He talks of 'the bugs crawling out of the Nazgul's body'. I always believed the 'bugs scene' was an indication of the effect the Nazgul had on all the living things around - not that they came from the Nazgul. Am I right?

A few others who named scenes involving Frodo:

Michael Fassbender: "It's got to be the scene where the Black Riders attack the camp. Frodo slips on the Ring and sees them as they really are: chilling and tragic. And there's some great shrieking when one of them goes up in flames."

http://ramblinmanfilms.com/2010/12/28/are-christian-bale-daniel-day-lewis-and-viggo-mortensen-the-new-method-men/

Are Christian Bale, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Viggo Mortensen the New Method Men?
Elisabeth Rappe,
Dec 28, 2010

There are three kinds of performers that pepper cinema.

The first category is arguably the most popular one: Stars. These are the men and women who fill out your genre films in all the right places. They might not have a lot of range, but you know that if you buy a ticket, you’ll enjoy yourself for two hours. John Wayne was a star. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a star. They could only play one thing, but they played it well, and that’s fine for certain films.

The second category is more squishy: Actors. This is a large category, populated by the insanely gorgeous and the weird and quirky. Many straddle the line between Star and Actor. Some trade one for the other. Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise were once an Actors, but preferred being Stars. Hilary Swank is an Actor, Julia Roberts is a Star. It’s a pretty welcoming category, all things considered, a place where Brad Pitt can hang out with Paul Giamatti and no one loses credibility.

Finally, there’s a slender category that only a few belong to. Truthfully, it’s more of a club than a category. These are the Method Actors, the Legends, the Crazy-As-Hell, the ones who are Old Before Their Time. This is where you find the likes of Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, and Dustin Hoffman. Or at least their neurotic, intense, and sweaty selves that we all worship.

There never were a lot of those intense types, but they were indelibly a thing of the 1970s and its raw filmmaking. They’ve vanished a bit in recent years as cinema became bigger and more disposable. It’s much easier to flash a brilliant smile or your patented look and collect your popular accolades. Even our good actors — Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Josh Brolin don’t work themselves up to a De Niro level. Laurence Olivier might say that’s how it ought to be done and sneer at that Crazy-As-Hell types as he famously did to Dustin Hoffman. But we love the results. We don’t whisper about Olivier the way we do about Pacino or De Niro. We don’t wonder if any of our current actors underwent electroshock therapy for research as we do about Jack Nicholson.

As we look at De Niro and Pacino and wonder where Travis Bickle or Sonny Wortzik went, you might be tempted to wonder if we’ll ever have those crazy 1970s Crazy Legends again. Happily, I think the answer is yes. I think we have three working as you read this: Daniel Day-Lewis, Christian Bale, and Viggo Mortensen. While two of them — Mortensen and Day-Lewis, respectively — may be past the half-century, they did some of their best work in the 1990s and 2000s, suggesting they may be a touchstone for at least two generations who knew Pacino and DeNiro only as B-movie or comedy staples.

Day-Lewis is, of course, Legend. His preparations for a role exceed De Niro or Pacino by a mile. De Niro lived in Sicily to get in touch with Vito Corleone. Day-Lewis went and lived in a cabin, hunting, shooting, and skinning his own food to play Nathanial “Hawkeye” Poe. De Niro gained weight and entered real Brooklyn boxing matches for Raging Bull. Day-Lewis lived in a wheelchair for My Left Foot and forced crew members to cart him around so he could turn their anger into his own frustration and shame. When he’s filming, he doesn’t break character. Ever. He’s even skirted death by pneumonia to be a better Bill the Butcher. It’s beyond bizarre, but the results can’t be denied. In ten or twenty years, I think young actors will be citing There Will Be Blood, The Age of Innocence, or The Gangs of New York as inspiration the way our current crop worships De Niro and Pacino. They will do similarly crazy immersion techniques, and the results will be fascinating.

Viggo MortensenViggo Mortensen doesn’t get a lot of attention for his method, largely because he’s so quiet about it. He’s more methodical and intellectual in his approach, and often prefers reading or travel to immerse himself. For Eastern Promises, he traveled to Siberia, became fluent in Russian, and spent time with Russian ex-cons. One of these mysterious figures gave him prison made “worry beads”, and he can be seen toying with them in the film. He also tends to stay in character off-screen. He enjoyed going out in London with his Russian tattoos until he noticed his shady appearance was causing alarm. He famously slept, hiked, and camped in his Aragorn costume, getting it grimy, and sewing up its rips and tears. He took a similar approach for The Road. Not only did he drop a dangerous amount of weight, but he lived and slept in his rags and layers and was kicked out of a Pittsburgh store because they believed him to be homeless. Even Appaloosa betrays a little tic or two if you pay attention to his prop scarf, which mysteriously appears as a treasured object, possibly carried over from Alatriste.

Christian BaleChristian Bale gets a lot of attention for his intense approach. He’s gained and dropped enough weight over his career to make up at least one De Niro, if not two. The most shocking was undoubtedly his transformation in The Machinist, where he lived on apples, salad, coffee and gum to achieve his hideous and emaciated appearance. Such was his transformation that many doubted he could be a suitable Batman. But they didn’t know Bale as well as they do now. Though he’s gone Method for every role (even Public Enemies saw him haunting the Purvis family to learn Melvin’s speech, mannerisms, and habits), it’s The Fighter that seems to have cemented him as a true obsessive. As Dicky, he starved himself down to an appropriate crack-addict level, shaved himself a bald spot, and went missing for hours from the set to get in the right frame of mind. His performances are helped by his being such an enigma in real life. He doesn’t even do interviews in his own accent, which suggests his greatest performance is his own public persona.

These three men stand out in their field for their technique, and I suspect they will manage to top themselves again and again before retirement. I suspect that as our decade wears on, we’ll be seeing a crop of actors that rivals those methodical 1970s legends. Michael Fassbender’s horrifying transformation in Hunger suggests he’s willing to go to Day-Lewis lengths in pursuit of acting perfection. Billy Crudup has an incredible reputation in theatrical circles for transforming himself, but it’s not yet something that’s translated to recognition in film. Natalie Portman’s physical and mental immersion into a lean, bruised, and possibly anorexic ballerina in Black Swan rivals any performance of Bale’s. The question is whether they will keep up the obsession and intensity throughout their careers and translate it to consistent box office and critical success … or if they will decide that once was enough. Who would blame them if they did?

But in Day-Lewis, Mortensen, and Bale, at least, that insane Method spirit lives on. We may have lost Pacino and De Niro to time and weariness, but they’ve inspired successors who have taken preparation to new extremes. Who knows what tomorrow’s actors will do?

FILM FESTIVAL FAVORITE moment was seeing the terrible state of drunkenness some of the crew got into the empire in Cannes this year? Or see Man On Wire, for the first time at Sundance? Or join the official delegation of the Brothers Bloom in San Sebastian and being mortified, as he walked down the red carpet? There are many to choose from, but in the end I went …Or meeting Mickey Rourke in Venice? Or the introduction of Jonathan Demme Nicolas Winding Refn in London?
1) Jane Fonda in MEIFF Why? Barbarella accepted a lifetime achievement award with a rousing speech of eight minutes and the best hair in Hollywood since Michael Douglas.
2) A panel discussion with Christopher Lee in Karlovy Vary Why? Faced with three Eastern European journalists and I, Lee sang a song in Russian, told us their dreams, explained why he would be a great Don Quixote and Josef Stalin forged signature.
Great clips and some new ideas, although the French security fascists put the ‘complete’ recorded a total 10 minutes before it would start and turned ticket holders.3) The master class Tarantino in Cannes Why?
4) Dinner with Michael Fassbender and Liam Cunningham in San Sebastian Why? Great company, though he seemed a little odd to go to dinner with these two straight after a screening of Hunger.

Michael Fassbender Showing the Love

Last month saw London’s coolest cats hitting up Bond Street’s Emporio Armani store for the fashion brand’s special Summer Garden live party.

Some of the biggest names around from actors and musicians to fashion idols to name a few came together among the grassy decked out store for the final installment of Armani’s super-intimate summer parties this year.

As cool as this sounds, things soon caught our attention (as if it hadn’t already!) when we spotted man-of-the-moment and star of X-Men: First Class and 300, Michael Fassbender sporting a classic Iron Maiden ‘Mummy’ t-shirt which definitely completed the cool and casual look…which was mostly Armani gear of course! Take a look.

Loving the truly classic feel of this look with his vintage biker style leather jacket complete with dark jeans, shoes and hat to boot.

Get your very own Iron Madien t-shirt and dress like the stars with our amazing range of rock clothing available at SugarBullets.co.uk from only £20!

Venice’s New Hot Spot
Sep 4, 2011 10:03 AM EDT
As the annual film festival rolls into town, Bungalow 8 is the place to be. Venetia Thompson reports from the chic pop-up lounge that’s the new favorite of Madonna, James Franco—and every other star who can get in.

It’s 3 a.m. in Venice and a statuesque blonde is towering over a terrified-looking Italian, telling him to move from the table he’s at—which has Michael Fassbender’s name on it. The mystified Italian is from a very old Venetian family and is standing his ground, but she’s Amy Sacco and at Bungalow 8, she calls the shots. He finally gets up, admitting defeat. “She has more power,” he admits as he makes his way toward the bar. Talk about a clash of civilizations.

The Palazzina Grassi, with its protruding green-draped entry, is home to a pop-up incarnation of Amy Sacco's Bungalo 8 during the Venice Film Festival. , Barbara Zanon / Getty Images

Sacco’s Bungalow 8, a pop-up at the Venice Film Festival now in its second year at Palazzina Grassi (a new Philippe Starck-designed luxury hotel next door to the Palazzo Grassi) has become the place to be after whatever other screenings, dinners, and parties have taken place earlier in the evening. Every night of the festival has seen a mob of tuxedoed and ball gown-clad celebrities leaping from their boats into the safe arms of the hangout’s canal-side doormen before being ushered past the dozens of stuffed leather animals that keep guard along the corridor into the club.

She’s Amy Sacco and at Bungalow 8, she calls the shots.

It’s a star-studded cast: Robin Wright, who partied there with her daughter Dylan; Bar Refaeli, who took over the decks on opening night; James Franco, licking his wounds after his film Sal sent the auditorium into a collective coma; Madonna, fine until she suddenly decides to move and you find yourself sandwiched between two of her body guards; Eli Roth, throwing some impressive dance moves; Natasha Poly, looking so beautiful she caused several neck-craning men to walk into pillars—they’ve all been enjoying the pop-up-in-a-palazzo experience in the last 72 hours. Not to mention every other actor, director, producer, and model in town who can get in.

Arrigo Cipriani better watch out—there’s a new prima donna in town.

Paul Gonzales

September 18, 2011

He has styled Michael Fassbender, Elton John and Tom Cruise to name but a few. Worked for I-D, Face and Stye.com. But who is this fashion leader? We discussed with Paul Gonzales his career achievements, latest street style blog and favourite types of clientele.

Q- You have worked as a stylist for 18 years and within a variety of areas in fashion. What has been (or will be) your career high and career low?

A- My career high was getting my first fashion campaign for Levi’s Dockers shot on location in San Francisco. Career low when I had to give up styling when the work dried up. My first fashion Job was for Pied a Terre, a shoe Retailer as regards to menial jobs in retail it’s all part and parcel of the retail experience. My highlight of the celebrity experience would be styling Renee Zellweger as she was so down to earth.

Q- What type of client do you most delight in styling? Or type of style campaign you have worked on.

A- I suppose celebrities due to the fact that your work is known to a wider audience.

Q- You state on your blog ‘I like to think of myself as a leader, rather than a follower’. But who would you love to follow. Who or what inspires you?

A– Edith Head she was a costume designer for Hollywood in its heyday you would be surprised what films she has worked on from the Hitchcock film North by Northwest to Rooster Cockburn.

Q- Your blog is relatively new (only 2/3 months old) . Why did you decide to start a blog?

A-Whilst trying network for clients to style. A mutual friend suggested I set up a fashion blog which would be good for research in my styling and personal shopping.

Q- You focus in your blog mainly on street style and it is full of great pictures you have taken personally. Why have you chosen to look just at street style? Why does this fascinate you so much?

A- Well most of the larger fashion houses employ style scouts to find out the trends on the streets as the majority of their income is made in this demographic. It fascinates me as this feeding ground to new fledgling fashions and styles.

Q- Under the pictures of people you write a small piece on their garments, about them etc… do you feel it benefits viewers to have a little knowledge of the people you photograph?

A- Well there are so many blogs on the internet you need to find your niche in a market that is so over saturated. Also if you know nothing about fashion you are given an easy insight to how it all works.

Q- You also list where you source your street style pictures from, for example Brick Lane. What is your favourite location to get images in. What area is the most stylish? What is the difference between these locations?

A- Well people want know as a point of reference as when I look at blogs I like to know how people from other regions put fashions together. My favourite area is Brick Lane because a lot a fashion students reside there. Areas like the Kings Road are more reserved.

Q-If you could go anywhere in the world to gather street style snaps where would you go and why?

A – I would like to go to New York because the light is so amazing there and all the different styles are in so close proximity to each other.

2011 Emmy Predictions

I'm a little tied up here in the middle of a major film festival, but in less than one hour Emmys are gonna start to be handed out and I can't miss my annual chance to go out on a limb with my predictions, get everything wrong and don't give a damn about it.

Actually, my interest in this year's Emmy race died out on September 10 when the Creative Arts Section of the awards was officially presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. That section includes the Guest Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series, where Randee Heller was up for an award for her memorable role of Mrs. Blankenship in the fourth season of Mad Men, but she lost out to Loreta Devine of Grey's Anatomy.

So my only real interest in the awards tonight is to see if delicious Betty White, officially my favourite person in the world after Angela Lansbury (including the members of my whole family and Michael Fassbender, who was walking around somewhere here in San Sebastian today), can pullk off a win as she did at the SAG for her role in the (admittedly) terrible Hot in Cleveland.

I'm following the red carpet online and I'm hearing I don't have much time left to linger on these things now. So here it is; briefly, carelessly and, above all, pointlessly, my 2011 Emmy predictions.

Michael Fassbender partied until 4am at a star-studded premiere party.

The 34-year-old actor is currently starring in the Steve McQueen-directed film, Shame. The erotic drama follows the story of Brandon, a 30-something man living in New York City who is unable to manage his sex life.

Michael enjoyed the after-party of the film’s debut at the New York Film Festival on Friday evening, according to the New York Post.

The bash continued into the early hours, and Michael was one of the stars who partied till 4 am.

The party attracted a host of famous faces including Olivia Wilde, Jeremy Renner, Mamie Gummer, Zoe Kazan and The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper.

The filmmaker is currently in the American city casting his upcoming project Les Misérables.

The party for Shame began at the Standard Hotel’s Boom Boom Room, a location prominently featured in the movie.

The Hackney Picturehouse opens
Posted at 10:00 am, October 28, 2011 in Arts & Entertainment

Hackney PicturehouseThis morning, a new London film theatre opens its doors to the public for the first time. The Hackney Picturehouse – run by the good people behind The Ritzy and The Gate – follows the current trend of being more than just a film house, with four screens, three bars, one café, an art gallery and a live events space. It takes over the woefully defunct Ocean music venue and the space has been transformed into an unrecognisably stylish, Patrick-Bateman-apartment style screening house. Each of the four screens come replete with jumbo velvety seats that ease into a slight recline when you sit on them – a bit like having a really luxurious, relaxing trip to the dentist, while the lobby has a vintage old fangled film projector by way of a feature – as if to illustrate how very modern the place is by comparison.

The cinema opened yesterday morning with a press event (below), where actor and Hackney resident Michael Fassbender (‘Hunger’, ‘Jane Eyre’) gave a short speech celebrating the launch. There was also an announcement of the cinema’s upcoming programme, highlights of which include the Film Africa festival, which begins next week, the Kurdish Film Festival later in November, a number of special events including a talk by Mark Kermode and a World Aids Day screening of new doc ‘We Were Here’, plus new release fare including ‘The Help’, ‘Tintin’, ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Sherlock Holmes 2’.

Find full listings for the Hackney Picturehouse in Time Out every week, or see picturehouses.co.uk for info.

deansthighholster:

My friend’s Dad works in the film industry, and he does visual effects.
She was telling me today about a funny story he has from when he scanned James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender for X-Men: First Class.

Basically, James was walking toward her dad to shake his hand, and he went across the circular base that rotates while you’re being scanned and it literally made him herp derp in the air and fall flat on the ground right in front of him.
I was in tears.

Then, Michael did THE SAME THING. I was literally crying laughing omg, but apparently he managed to smoothly land and ended up dizzily wondering in the wrong direction.

McFassy even make the same mistakes omg I can’t handle it.
It must’ve been so funny to watch.

GQ celebrates A Dangerous Method

By Andy Morris

Michael Fassbender has a problem. Having successful waltzed his A Dangerous Methodco-star Viggo Mortensen around the dining room of luxurious London steakhouse 34 to "The Girl From Ipanema", he embraces GQ editor Dylan Jones to continue the merry dance. The band, however, have other ideas. "Guys? Lads? Fellas?" the Irish actor emplores as the unlikely pair begin their silent strut (there seemed to be no consensus on who should lead). It seemed fitting for a film whose central tenant is that "pleasure is never simple" that things wouldn't go quite according to plan.

Fassbender's dancefloor faux pas was one of the many highlights of GQ's dinner to mark the release of both David Cronenberg's film and Keira Knightley's first GQ cover. On top table Ms Knightley herself was chatting to Klaxons' boyfriend James Reynolds, who was raving - in ever sense - about the pair watching the new Chemical Brothers film Don't Think saying "I don't think I've ever seen anything like it in the cinema". Viggo Mortensen was on similarly splendid form, remembering filming The Prophecy with Christopher Walken and his co-star chewing garlic gloves and singing Elvis songs. "He wasn't trying to put me off" laughs Mortensen "But he was crazy". Other guests included George Lamb, Patrick Grant, Olivia Cole, Burberry model Cara Delevingne, Phillip Green and Jonathan Newhouse.

The March issue of British GQ is out on Thursday 2 March, priced £3.99. The issue will also be available on the iPad.

Michael Fassbender entertains Keira Knightley at A Dangerous Method afterparty
by Ashleigh Rainbird, Daily Mirror 2/02/2012

THIS celebrity premiere after-party had absolutely everything.

After a glass of champagne or eight, current Hollywood It boy Michael Fassbender, 34, twirled co-stars Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley on the dancefloor before tinkling the ivories and finally piggy-backing his way out the front door.

Where he stopped to ’ave a fag.

Keira, 26, has said of her A Dangerous Method co-star: “You can count on Michael to buy a bottle of champagne when one is required.” Clearly.

The English actress, meanwhile, made a rare public appearance with her little fella from Klaxons (James Righton, 27), snogging him passionately in the back of a taxi.

Fan vomits after seeing Michael Fassbender

Friday, 2 March 2012

Michael Fassbender was reportedly left "bemused" when a fan, unable to contain her excitement, vomited after seeing him.

The Hollywood star currently resides in East London, and his presence has caused a wave of excitement amongst fans in the area.

A girl in one of his local public houses was so star struck, she reportedly vomited right by his feet.

"Since Michael has been talking about how he lives in Hackney loads of girls have been hanging around the area in the hope of catching a glimpse of him," an eye-witness told British newspaper The Sun.

"He was a bit bemused by his latest encounter but brushed off the vomit and played it cool.

"He used to be a barman so he's no stranger to mopping up some sick."

The hysterical fan is just one female in a long line of Michael's admirers. The hunk has seen his profile rise since appearing in a range of Hollywood movies including X-Men: First Class, A Dangerous Method and Shame.

The 34-year-old star recently discussed his attitude to striking up a romance with a lady.

"It's very difficult to maintain a relationship doing this kind of job. I know people do manage to maintain marriages and relationships within it, but I'm pretty selfish in terms of how I work and the time I take," he said.

Michael Fassbender Left 'Bemused' As Fan 'Vomits With Excitement' After Seeing Him

It looks as though the excitement of seeing Michael Fassbender in all his humanly glory got a bit too much for one fan after she vomited after seeing him.

The actor, who is currently living in London, was reportedly left feeling "bemused" when a fan let it all come out right by his feet when she spotted him in a pub.

What a hottie!

An eyewitness who saw the incident in all it's technicolor glory told The Sun: "Since Michael has been talking about how he lives in Hackney loads of girls have been hanging around the area in the hope of catching a glimpse of him.

"He was a bit bemused by his latest encounter but brushed off the vomit and played it cool."

The eyewitness added: "He used to be a barman so he's no stranger to mopping up some sick."

The 34-year-old Hollywood hottie, recently revealed in an interview that he finds it difficult maintaining relationships due to his job.

He said: "It's very difficult to maintain a relationship doing this kind of job. I know people do manage to maintain marriages and relationships within it, but I'm pretty selfish in terms of how I work and the time I take."

Bemused ... Michael Fassbender

But Hollywood star Michael Fassbender has gone one better after recently moving to east London – a girl in one of his locals was so starstruck on meeting him for the first time that she puked all over his shoes.

Bafta-nominated Shame actor Michael – nicknamed Vastbender on these pages thanks to his love of a sherry – was out for a drink in Hackney when he was collared by the hysterical fan.

Unable to contain her excitement, or Sunday lunch, she threw up at Michael's feet.

A fellow pub-goer said: "Since Michael has been talking about how he lives in Hackney loads of girls have been hanging around the area in the hope of catching a glimpse of him.

"He was a bit bemused by his latest encounter but brushed off the vomit and played it cool.

"He used to be a barman so he's no stranger to mopping up some sick."

At least it makes a change from female admirers posting him their undercrackers.

(Irish-German actor, Michael Fassbender, poses with his award for Empire Hero at the Jameson Empire Awards at a central London)

The German actor is most likely to visit India to promote his much awaited film 'Prometheus'.

If things work out well, Fox Star Studios is most likely to get Michael Fassbender and Ridley Scott to India before the release of 'Prometheus'. Fassbender is best known for his bold role in the much talked about 'Shame' and 'X Men First Class'.

100 Best Things in Pop Culture: #84 Michael Fassbender's Face

by Jenna Mullins Today 8:30 AM PDT

It's the face that launched a million-trillion fantasies.

So quickly, too. One minute, Michael Fassbender was a virtual unknown. The next, he's the hottest guy in the universe. Just like that. And it wasn't his bare-all bravado and Oscar nomination-worthy (still bitter he was snubbed) work for Shame that did the trick.

As we all know, it was the face.

RELATED: #82 Selena Gomez, Grown-Up

We were sold the second he hit us with that Fassy shark smile in Inglourious Basterds. You know the one. All teeth. Mischievous. Oh, and those, "I'm thinking something naughty" eyes.

The Fassbender face can do so much else, too. It can rock the vacant look of a creepy blonde robot in Prometheus, or the clean-shaven James Bond vibe from X-Men: First Class, and the hotness level never goes down! It's almost not fair.

And it's not perfect, either. Maybe that's the secret. The face has that weathered look, something that hints at many nights (or years?) of debauchery, adventure, heartbreak. Oh, to join him on one of those nights. Any one.

And then there's that scruffy ginger beard. We could write sonnets about his facial hair. And maybe we will. Later, though.

For now, we just have to say: Michael Fassbender, your mug is one of the wonders of the world. We're thrilled to know that we'll be seeing it on the big screen, and on red carpets, for years and years to come.

Oh, and congratulations on your face!

What a Fass-blunder! Michael Fassbender is spotted filming new movie The Counselor sporting a dodgy fake tan

By Daily Mail Reporter

PUBLISHED: 15:49 EST, 1 August 2012 | UPDATED: 15:50 EST, 1 August 2012

He's known for his edgy and masculine movie roles.

So it came as a surprise today when Michael Fassbender was spotted shooting his new movie with a dodgy fake tan to rival the best of the TOWIE clan.

The Inglourious Basterds star took to the streets of London to shoot scenes for The Counselor, which he's starring in alongside Brad Pitt.

Fassbender, 35, plays a lawyer in the film as his character becomes involved with a dodgy drug dealing.

So it seems even more bizarre that he sported such an orange tinged skin tone for the thriller genre.

The Irish-German actor nevertheless looked dapper in a suit as he took on the action role.
Fooling around: Fassbender was in a jovial mood as he shot more scenes earlier today in the film which also stars Cameron Diaz and Brad Pitt

He wore smart shoes and a maroon tie with his shirt as he was seen getting in and out of a car during one clip of the film.

Brad plays a drug trafficker in the Ridley Scott-directed movie and the thriller tells the tale of a lawyer (Fassbender) who gets involved in drug dealing and ends up way over his head.

Written by On The Road‘s Cormac McCarthy, the film also stars Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Cameron Diaz.

Pitt was similarly seen today shooting for the project under the watchful eye of Ridley Scott as he wore a white cowboy hat and suit.
