Sequels/Prequels/Reboots You Probably Didn't Know Were Being Made
Although we probably won't be seeing any of these films for at least a couple of years, I thought I would share some info on upcoming reboots, sequels and prequels of flicks most people are already familiar with. The question remains; which of these franchises do you expect to explode onto the big screen in style?
Pictures posted when available.

Prometheus
The project started as a prequel to Alien, but has evolved into a spin-off in it's own right. The good news is that Ridley Scott is returning to direct, and hopefully can reclaim some of the directorial prowess that he's lacked in his latest films. Scott claims that Prometheus takes place in the same world as Alien but 30 years before and will explore some new creatures in the Alien universe. It will star Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds).

Die Hard 5
Yeah, that's right. John McClane will return again under director Noam Murro (Smart People) in the fifth installment as the yippee-ka-yay motherf@#$%#@! badass who kills anyone with anything that is rumored to be titled Die Hard 24/7. I will say I liked Live Free or Die Hard and who knows this could be really enjoyable.

The Amazing Spider-Man

The combination of Andrew Garfield as the titular hero and Marc Webb (ironic?) who directed (500) Days of Summer directing makes me really excited for this one. I'll admit, I love the concept of Spiderman and really enjoyed the original Sam Rami trilogy but I'm definitely willing to give this one a shot.

How to Train Your Dragon 2
Those connected to the project are saying that we're going to get a much bigger world in this one with new dragons and new adventures and I am definitely in. I loved the first one and feel like this is a good one to sequelize. The original voice cast is expected to return.

Iron Man 3
Ugh, won't Marvel learn when to throw the towel in? Iron Man was fun, pompous and elevated by Downey's performance, making it a surprising hit. Iron Man 2 though was a pitiful and shotgun effort to make a lot of money and lacked a decent story, any good new characters and had some downright awful performances (Mickey Rourke's quickly lose all the reputability he earned in The Wrestler). Jon Favreau, the director of the first two installments, has said he will not rejoin.

The Three Musketeers

A new take on an age old concept, The Three Musketeers has been ton a dozen times and this next reboot is not very exciting. It's directing by Paul W.S Anderson (not be be confused with Paul Thomas Anderson or Wes Anderson), the director of Resident Evil series and Death Race 1 & 2..... yeahhhhh..... not a promising helmer. It stars Orlando Bloom, Milla Jovovich and Christoph Waltz, a surprisingly talented cast for a seemingly dull remake.

Rise of the Apes

A prequel to the slew of Planet of the Apes mythos that features James Franco and a cast of capture motion CGI apes. Andy Serkis (Gollum, King Kong, anything in a capture motion suit....) plays the central simian who started it all, Cornelius. Director Rupert Wyatt is a relative newcomer so it's hard to say what this will be like. Who knows this could even be really cool.

Which of these re-envisioning are you most/least excited about?
