No Shame: Michael Fassbender combines business with pleasure as girlfriend Nicole Beharie escorts him to Venice Film Festival

Surrounded by beautiful architecture and romantic culture, Michael Fassbender combined business with pleasure as he attended the Venice Film Festival.

The X-Men: First Class actor was seen lapping up the sunshine with girlfriend Nicole Beharie as the pair were escorted through the picturesque city, today (Monday).

Fassbender, 35, kept things low key as he walked down the street with one arm delicately placed on his girlfriend's lower back.

The in demand star wore a dark blue V-neck shirt with a pair of cream trousers as he covered his eyes with a pair of sunglasses.

The espadrille wearing leading man carried a large black leather bag in one hand as he casually slung a light jacket over his shoulder.

Nicole, 27, took advantage of the good weather and wore a sleeveless white polka dot top which she teamed with a pair of black trousers.

The couple met while filming Shame together but Fassbender insisted they only began dating once the movie had been completed.

He told America's GQ magazine: 'Nothing happened while we were filming. We started talking more on the promotion thing. So, yeah, it just sort of unfolded like that.'

Michael arrived in Venice, yesterday, to present the YouTube's Your Film Festival award at the 69th Venice Film Festival.

Spanish filmmaker David Victori won the inaugural prize for his short movie The Guilt.

Fassbender, who will executive produce the Spaniard's next movie with Sir Ridley Scott, said: 'I was engaged from the top of the film'.

Michael has a busy few months coming up as he continues to film The Counselor, with Brad Pitt, before reprising his role as Magneto in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

EXCLUSIVE: Cameron Diaz and Michael Fassbender dance the night away
Posted by Leanne Petersen on 10 September 2012 16:31

Cameron Diaz, we’re so very jealous of you right now.

Our spies tell us that lucky Cameron spent the night dirty-dancing away with none other than the gorgeous Michael Fassbender.

The pair are both currently filming Ridley Scott film The Counsellor and it seems they’ve also bonded over a shared love of RnB tuuuuuuuuunes.

Cameron was spotted out to dinner with fellow co-stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem at Mayfair’s exclusive 34 restaurant on Thursday last week.

But despite recently turning 40, when Penelope and Javier nipped home to their baby Leo, party-girl Cameron decided to head to cult Soho restaurant La Bodega Negra, where she happened to bump into her co-star.

A source tells us: “They spent the night dirty-dancing to a load of old-school RnB tunes in a corner of the restaurant, having a great time. They particularly seemed to love boogying away to The Notorious B.I.G.”

AMAZING. We WISH we were you Cameron.

Oh, and wait a second, check out that rather familiar face in the corner of this photo taken as Cameron left the nightspot. (We didn’t even need to get a magnifying glass out or anything)

When we last checked, Michael was still dating his Shame co-star Nicole Beharie, so we’re not sounding the ON-SET ROMANCE KLAXON just yet. But let’s just say we’re poised.

Jay-Z Hates Egg Nog, Michael Fassbender Believes In Santa And Other Celebrity Holiday Revelations

Tis the season to talk to celebs on the red carpet about the ups, downs and WTFs of the holidays. In the video above we’ve got Jay-Z dissecting the drama of drinking too much egg nog (we’ve all been there, Hov), Nicole Scherzinger getting grossed out over fruit cake, and Shame star Michael Fassbender claiming that he still believes in Santa Claus. Funny, that’s kind of like us still believing we can one day date Michael Fassbender! Here’s to ho-ho-hoping that he’s under the tree waiting for us this Christmas. If not, an advance copy of Shame will do. (Guys, he’s naked in it! NAKED. Happy Holidays to our eyes!)

Michael Fassbender Talks Dogging

Posted by Adam

Friday December 2, 2011

MICHAEL Fassbender has been teaching Hollywood “dogging” techniques.

The Inglorious Basterds actor plays a wealthy and handsome sex addict in new movie Shame but from his observations back home in the UK, believes money and looks are no barrier when it comes to finding multiple partners.

“If you’re addicted to gambling, you know where to go to gamble,” explains Michael.

“So, if you have a condition where you’re addicted to sex, you know where others that are looking for the same thing are going. I don’t think it necessarily comes down to looks. It’s a common interest. In England, there was a phenomenon there that was this dogging scenario. People basically parked in car-parks around the country and had sex. You’d park a car, meet a stranger and have sex with them. So, people that are into that know where the car-parks are.”

They had a very good year…
By Josh WinningDec 18th 2012

Michael Fassbender

If 2011 was the year of Gosling, 2012 was the year that Fassbender well and truly KOed the big screen.

He came out of the holding gate firing on all cylinders. Metaphorically, of course, because it was Shame that had people whispering all January about that guy who went full frontal in some film about a sex addict.

True to form, Fassbender ensured people were also talking about the performance – a fragile, shivering turn that was unutterably haunting.

That he followed it up with blockbuster Prometheus – of which it’s generally agreed he was the best component – proved Fassbender could do anything. Yes, even survive having his head ripped off by an angry alien.

IRELAND CERTAINLY HAS STAR APPEAL

First we had Daniel Day-Lewis and Spielberg and now it seems we're being spoiled with A-list talent. You'd be forgiven for mistaking Dublin for Hollywood lately as actress Maggie Gyllenhaal became the latest star name to arrive at Dublin Airport ahead of her working visit to the capital. The Dark Knight actress is in the midst of filming a new Irish made film under the talented direction of IFTA nominated Lenny Abrahamson. Lenny, the man behind homegrown hits such as 'What Richard Did' and 'Garage' has assembled a stellar cast for his upcoming film 'Frank'. Irish stars Domhnall Gleeson and Michael Fassbender also star in the comedy about a young wannabe musician which has just finished shooting scenes in New Mexico. The cast are now set to spend the coming weeks here at home to finish filming. Time to get those 'star-spotting' hats on!

Digital Spy Alternative Oscars 2013: Nominees and winners
Published Saturday, Feb 23 2013, 3:53am EST | By Mayer Nissim |4 comments

When Seth McFarlane and Emma Stone announced the 2013 Academy Awards nominations last month, we happily found ourselves nodding in agreement with much of the list.

But, just like last year, Oscar nomination joy across Hollywood was balanced out by glum faces for others.

In some of those cases, we understood why they might have felt slighted. To give some love to those who missed out on the Academy's votes, we present Digital Spy's Alternative Oscar Awards. Read on for our nominees and winners.

Best Picture
Daniel Craig in 'James Bond: Skyfall'

The Master
Looper
Rust and Bone
Skyfall - WINNER
Frankenweenie
Berberian Sound Studio
The Dark Knight Rises
The Hunger Games
The Avengers

And the Alternative Oscar goes to... The Academy doesn't seem too keen on superheroes, even when they're dressed in a snazzy suit. Its treatment of Skyfall suggests that 007 may have accidentally blown up a few voters' homes in his time.

After the success of the edgy Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace ran off with the baton in the wrong direction - but in its 50th anniversary year, Skyfall managed the seemingly impossible mix of classic kitsch and "proper filmmaking".

Sure, the Broccolis don't need an Oscar, but when marquee moviemaking is done this well, it deserves to be applauded.

Best Actor
Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva n 'Amour'

Daniel Craig (Skyfall)
John Hawkes (The Sessions)
Matthew McConaughey (Killer Joe)
Toby Jones (Berberian Sound Studio)
Jean-Louis Trintignant (Amour) - WINNER

And the Alternative Oscar goes to... While Daniel Craig's Bond definitely deserved a shout (see above) and his countryman Toby Jones is always brilliant, we couldn't look past Jean-Louis Trintignant.

Emmanuelle Riva rightly earned the honor of being the oldest ever contender for the 'Best Actress' prize in the same movie - the Academy loves a physically demanding performance - but we think the key to the heart(break) in Amour is the part played by Trintignant.

The pain and tragedy of old age, sickness and death sometimes seems hardest for those left behind trying against all the odds to keep hold of the pieces, and we think that Trintignant's performance even had the edge over his co-star. He had us sobbing in the aisles.

Best Actress
Rust and Bone, Marion Cotillard, Matthias Schoenaerts

Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone) - WINNER
Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games)
Juno Temple (Killer Joe)
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Smashed)
Emily Blunt (Your Sister's Sister)

And the Alternative Oscar goes to... We'll whisper this, but despite being the favorite to pick up the prize for her fine display in Silver Linings Playbook, we actually preferred the strength of Jen's iron-fist-in-a-velvet-glove performance in The Hunger Games.

But like the Academy voters, we're also suckers for a performance boasting raw physicality, and Marion Cotillard combines that here with her usual strengths in so-believably projecting her character.

We think that a second 'Best Actress' gong for Marion to nestle alongside her prize for La Vie en rose will rightly highlight how capable she is and how broad that ability is.

Best Director
Director Kathryn Bigelow on the set of 'Zero Dark Thirty'

Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) - WINNER
Tom Hooper (Les Misérables)
Ben Affleck (Argo)
Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises)
Sam Mendes (Skyfall)

And the Alternative Oscar goes to... We've noticed that a lot of our Alternative film nominees have of course been recognized by the real Academy in other categories, but when you've got nine 'Best Picture' nods and only five for 'Best Director', there's bound to be some crossover.

The impressive Ben Affleck is the People's Champion here and he certainly came close for us, but Kathryn Bigelow pulled off an even more impressive feat by making a 2.5-hour movie about a ten-year period that maintained its tension throughout, especially in its taught final operations scenes.

We ignored the kerfuffle over the "condoning of torture" (short answer: it doesn't) and think that even if the Academy hasn't recognized the existence of a second female director just yet, they made a mistake not giving the first they've acknowledged another statue.

Best Supporting Actor
Michael Fassbender in Prometheus viral

Michael Fassbender (Prometheus) - WINNER
Dwight Henry (Beasts of the Southern Wild)
Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers)
Leonardo DiCaprio (Django Unchained)
Javier Bardem (Skyfall)

And the Alternative Oscar goes to... If we had an Oscar for 'Most Disappointing Movie' it would probably go to Prometheus. Somehow over-long and over-edited. Too flippant and too self-regarding. A script so off-puttingly high-minded and incredibly hokey.

But that doesn't mean we have to throw out the David with the bathwater. In our Alternative universe, Michael Fassbender follows his 2012 win for Shame with another award.

Cool, detached (from his body at one point), but utterly menacing at the same time, from the wreckage of Prometheus Fassbender emerged with his reputation as the finest actor of his generation enhanced, rather than diminished.
