Who Should Play The Riddler?

I’ve seen a lot of discussion floating about with people arguing about who will be best to play The Riddler in the untitled Batman sequel. It’s something which has come up in discussion with my circle of friends a fair amount also, so I figured I’d give my two cents on the matter. In descending order, here’s my list of prospective candidates:

3. Michael Fassbender – Eden Lake, Inglorious Basterds, 300

Again, another name I haven’t seen suggested much for the part, which I found particularly surprising. Fassbender is an amazing upcoming actor who has been vastly under-appreciated, from his understated role in Fish Tank, to his upcoming part as Magneto in X-Men Origins. An incredibly diverse actor, and appropriately obscure for Nolan to enjoy the challenge, Fassbender really could be the perfect cast. However, for one of the biggest franchises ever, it may be too big of a gamble for the studio.
