The upcoming comic book adaption Jonah Hex now has a new image online, and it would seem they’re aiming for a mix between Deadwood’s Seth Bullock and Clint Eastwood from A Fistful of Dollars. In other words, extremely bad-ass.

Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) stars in this Warner Bros.’ film, slated for release August 10, 2010. Alongside Brolin will be Megan Fox, of all people. Might this be her opportunity to finally showcase her acting chops that she insists she has? Brolin is a superb actor, and with John Malkovich and Michael Fassbender (Band of Brothers) also in the film, there’s a good chance Fox will get a lot more exposure than Jennifer’s Body did.

I'd love to see a poster of Michael's character, if WB is going to go all out.

Its been very quiet on the Hex front. With footage from Comic-Com never even being leaked online! Anyway, hopefully this means we will see some clips very soon.

Jonah Hex also stars Megan Fox, John Malchovitch and Michael Fassbender, its current release date is August 10th, 2010.

The first image from the upcoming comic book adaptation Jonah Hex has landed online and even though it’s only one image, it’s clear that they’re headed in a very clear direction: bad-ass. And like my grandma always says, “You can’t go wrong with bad-ass.” It also jibes with the bad-ass footage I saw at Comic-Con. Warner Bros. is getting the word out that deformed, gun-slinging anti-hero Jonah Hex (played by Josh Brolin) kills people just as easily as you and I would smile, or blink, or breathe. That would be terrifying were it not so bad-ass. Also, check out the interviews Steve did at Comic-Con with Josh Brolin and with Megan Fox, Michael Fassbender, and director Jimmy Hayward. Jonah Hex hits theaters on June 18, 2010.

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone…and anything. Yesterday we gave you a clear look at the new character design for Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm St remake. Now Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex joins Jackie Early Haley’s Freddy and Aaron Eckhart’s Two-Face in the new craze that will be sweeping the nation… forget vampires, it’s all about realistically burnt faces. That’ll be the trend for 2010, mark my words! Ok, so not really.

Here is the first official image for Jimmy Hayward’s big-screen adaptation of the genre bending comic cook Jonah Hex, written by Crank 1 & 2 writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. On-set pics surfaced of Brolin as Hex back in June. And we got a peek at one side of his face in the Poster that premiered at Comic-Con. His eyes are hidden in the picture below, but that just adds to the persona– the only person cooler than a badass is a mysterious brooding badass.

The film is set in the Wild West, where a scarred bounty hunter tracks a voodoo practitioner bent on liberating the South by raising an army of the undead. John Malkovich, Michael Fassbender, Megan Fox, Will Arnett and Michael Shannon round out the cast.

Jonah Hex is aiming for am August 10th, 2010 release.

Josh Brolin is DC’s Jonah Hex, and we’ve got the first official picture to prove it…

We must have missed the moving of the release date for this one, because we always thought that Warner Bros’ Jonah Hex movie was pencilled in for release around next August-time, out of the main firing line of the big 2010 summer blockbusters. In fact, let’s go and check that right now…

Yep, we missed that, alright. It was announced back in July that the movie was being brought forward from August 6th to June 18th in the US, a fairly hefty vote of confidence for the film from where we're sitting.

Anyway, back to business. Based on the DC comicbooks, Jonah Hex could be the last R-rated comic-based movie we see in some time. Most encouragingly, it's given the title role of the Wild West bounty hunter to the wonderful Josh Brolin. Furthermore, the film's box office chances aren't going to have been hurt by the casting of Megan Fox either (who when she isn't the lead in a film very much has the capability of putting bums on seats). And we're particularly encouraged that Michael Fassbender and John Malkovich are on board too. The whole enterprise looks really quite promising.

And it now seems that the publicity machine has kicked into life. A first official image from the film has just been released. As you might expect, it features Brolin as the title character. And he doesn't look in a very good mood.

We'll bring you more on Jonah Hex as we get it. And we won't be missing, er, ‘small details' such as a release date move next time either...

Gaze Upon 'The Losers' and 'Jonah Hex'!

At last, some comic book news that isn't centered around Batman or Spider-Man! Omelete got their hands on some official images from two of Warner Bros' upcoming comic flicks, Jonah Hex and The Losers.

We've seen paparazzi glimpses from the Hex set of Megan Fox and Josh Brolin, but there's nothing like a well-lit and spooky shot, especially when your actor looks good enough to have walked off the page. If you're a fan of the haunted gunslinger and are unconvinced, you might be comforted by the sight of his Confederate gray and mangled lip. I can't say how excited I am for this film. Jonah Hex is a character who has more in common with High Plains Drifter than the capes and superpower crowd, and I think that will surprise and delight a lot of "newbies" who still equate DC Comics with Batman.

Here’s the first official picture from the upcoming graphic novel adaptation Jonah Hex.

Jonah Hex centers its story on Hex, who is known for having the right side of his face disfigured and wearing a Confederate army uniform.

Starring opposite Josh Brolin is Megan Fox who portrays a prostitute named Leila.

The film is directed by Jimmy Hayward and will hit theaters on June 18, 2010.

Here's the first-ever reveal for Jonah Hex. It's not a lot but you can tell Jonah Hex's face is looking as grisly as it does in the comic book. Jonah's face is permanently marred by a tomahawk burn he received in his youth.
