Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (M?lanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz).

Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema.

Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution.

Known to their enemy as "The Basterds," Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich.

Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own...

Cristoph Waltz action figure to be released

Christoph Waltz has been transformed into an incredibly realistic looking action figure.

A 30cm tall toy set to go on sale later this year features Waltz in his role as Colonel Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 World War II thriller, Inglourious Basterds.

Austrian-born Waltz, 53, won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Nazi Landa, the so-called 'Jew Hunter'.

The Landa figure, created by Hong Kong-based Hot Toys, comes with various accessories including a pistol, pipe, briefcase, and interchangeable hands.

The figure's price has yet to be set.
