New International Trailer, TV Spot For X-Men: First Class
Wednesday, April 20th, 2011 at 7:30am

* by Kevin Melrose

With June 3 fast approaching, Fox is picking up the pace in its marketing for X-Men: First Class, just this week debut two new stills, a poster and, now, a new U.S. television spot and a second international trailer.

Both feature bits of new footage, including glimpses of Caleb Landry Jones’ Banshee in flight, Jason Flemyng’s Azazel doing his best Nightcrawler impersonation and Michael Fassbender’s Erik Lensherr being a badass.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr, January Jones as Emma Frost, Nicholas Hoult as Henry McCoy/Beast, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme/Mystique, Lucas Till as Alex Summers/Havok, Caleb Landry Jones as Sean Cassidy/Banshee, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, Edi Gathegi as Darwin, Oliver Platt as the Man in Black, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggart and Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore.

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Exclusive: New X-Men First Class Trailer

Few trailers have been as successful in their purpose as those released for X-Men: First Class. Matthew Vaughn's prequel has been building up momentum over the last few months, and the latest trailer reveals yet more action set-pieces and freaky characters as the mutants vie for acceptance against the backdrop of the Cold War.

Find out how Michael Fassbender's Erik Lehnsherr and James McAvoy's Dr Charles Xavier became the best of enemies on June 1st.

First TV Spot For 'X-Men: First Class' Brings In The Action
By Melissa Molina on April 18, 2011

First TV Spot For 'X-Men: First Class' Brings In The Action Twentieth Century Fox is definitely picking up some steam on the "X-Men" marketing wagon right now. Within the past couple of hours not only did they dish out a brand new photo but now there's a slightly-blurry television spot for us all to watch. The best thing about the new television spot for "X-Men: First Class" is that we get to see Banshee (played by Caleb Landry Jones) and Alex Summers/Havoc (played by Lucas Till) show off some of their mutant powers. Yes, Banshee even has the flying-squirrel cape but without the outrageous colors.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, "X-Men: First Class" centers on the younger versions of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender), best friends who try to get a grasp of their own powers in a 1960s backdrop. When the rise of mutant concern starts to sweep the globe, its there when the "old friends" must decide which side they'll be on when the battle against the mutants begins.

"X-Men: First Class" will be released in theaters everywhere on June 3rd. Check out the television spot below (one with dialogue, one without).

Fassbender and McAvoy remain stars of brand new X-Men: First Class trailer

A new trailer for Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class has been released unveiling yet more footage of the famous mutants in their youth, with Professor X and Magneto's relationship remaining the main focus of the preview.

The two-minute-42-seconds trailer starts with footage we’ve already seen before, introducing James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Charles and Eric before they became Professor X and Magneto respectively.

However, there are also a significant number of new scenes including interaction between Nicholas Hoult’s Beast and Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique.

The film’s historical backdrop is also a lot clearer, with the Cuban Missile Crisis clearly playing a major part in the fourth film of the X-Men franchise.

Fans of the series have expressed their excitement about the new trailer, with surpriseawesomeness posting on Reddit: ‘This looks just great. I am ridiculously excited for this movie.

‘After X3 (and wolverine) I had my reservations about them ever doing another xmen movie, but this looks really well done.’

A new international trailer has also been released with significantly more footage showing the mutants' attempts to prevent the Cuban Missile Crisis and their ongoing battle for acceptance from humans.

Two new trailers for X-Men: First Class
By David Bentley on Apr 28, 11 12:00 AM

X-Men First Class UK posternew.jpg

EXCITEMENT...amazement...discussion...analysis. That was pretty much the reaction (and still is) to the two new trailers for X-Men: First Class that have been released tonight.

Both clips are included below if you've yet to view them or want to have another look. There's a fair amount of new footage and while there are no dramatic spoilers of major plot twists, the general flow of the story is laid out and it's your call whether you want to know so much about the content of the movie.

As the poster above indicates, this X-Men prequel hits UK cinemas on June 1. It chronicles the first meeting of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and the events that led to their rift and the formation of their rival teams, the Brotherhood and the X-Men.

In the trailers you will also see Caleb Landry Jones as Sean Cassidy aka Banshee, who can emit a sonic scream that also enables him to fly; Lucas Till as Alex Summers aka Havok, the brother of Cyclops who can project destructive, fiery energy from his body; Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore, who has insect wings; Jennifer Lawrence as the younger Mystique; Nicholas Hoult as the young Beast; Kevin Bacon as villainous Sebastian Shaw; January Jones as Emma Frost, a telepath who can also turn her body to diamond; and Jason Flemyng as Azazel, a red-skinned, teleporting mutant who is the father of Nightcrawler.

Here are the two new trailers:

New International Trailer for 'X-Men: First Class' Ups the Ante
Wednesday, 27 April 2011 14:20 Written by Jordan DeSaulnier

You know how sometimes, a hoarder will get trapped beneath a metric ton of old TV Guides and newspapers, crushed by an avalanche of their own obsessive tendencies? Today, we are all that hoarder, and the plethora of X-Men: First Class promotional material unleashed over the last several hours has engulfed each in every one of us in the best possible way. In addition to the gee-whiz awesome first trailer released this morning, there's now an even cooler international trailer online for your viewing pleasure.

This nearly three-minute long mega-trailer encompasses everything we've seen from the film already, and then adds a whole lot more, all of it astonishingly cool. Head over to Bleeding Cool to view the trailer, which provides an even better idea of the story, the characters, and the show-stopping visuals.

We've all known for months now that X-Men: First Class has a cast that includes pros like Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jason Flemyng, and Oliver Platt. But just to raise the bar even higher, this trailer provides a glimpse at Michael Ironside, who nobody knew would be appearing. He's the Naval Officer at 1:35. Kudos, Matthew Vaughn, for including Old Ironside. X-Men: First Class is set for release on June 3rd, and if you weren't psyched before today, I'm willing to bet that you are now.

'X-Men: First Class' Actors Reveal Character & Story Details
Wednesday, 27 April 2011 12:12 Written by Jordan DeSaulnier

Most of the promotional material we've seen from X-Men: First Class has focused almost exclusively on the central relationship between the youthful versions of Professor Xavier and Magneto, played in the 1960's set prequel by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. Today's theatrical trailer, however, spent plenty of time introducing us to the ensemble of players who comprise the eponymous first class at Xavier's School for Gifted youngsters. MSN talked to ten of the primary actors about their characters, and the cast provided plenty of previously unknown plot details in the process.

Fassbender's summation of Erik Lensherr, aka Magneto, is basically a shorter version of his extensive explanation from earlier this month, sharing Lensherr's Holocaust past and vendetta with Kevin Bacon's Sebastian Shaw.

"At the start of the movie we get introduced to Erik as a boy. We start in the concentration camps with him and it cuts to 20 years later and it's the early 60s and it's Erik as a grown man. He's on a quest to get Sebastian Shaw, played by Kevin Bacon. Shaw had him in these concentration camps - and as we know the Nazis were doing lots of experimentation with all sorts of things like measuring skull size and brain size and running experiments on human beings, essentially. Shaw is trying to unleash this power in Magneto - he's recognised that he can manipulate metal - and so we catch up with Erik on a quest to basically hunt Shaw down."

Havok, played by Lucas Till, is one of the students enlisted by Xavier and Lensherr to cultivate their mutant powers. Till compares the cinematic version of his character to his comic book counterpart. He mentions that Havok is the younger brother of Cyclops, but their familial relationship might be different in the film.

"Alex Summers, whose super name is Havok, is Scott 'Cyclops' Summers's younger brother. I can shoot plasma beams out of my entire body instead of just optic beams. Just like Scott can't control his power without glasses or his visor on, historically Alex has never been able to control his power either. It's always in outbursts of lack of control. In the comics he has a suit that kind of absorbs excess energy. But it was more like a meter that told him how much power he had, whereas in this one I have something that channels it because I can't control it myself. It's a chest piece that focuses the ray so I don't blow it out everywhere."

Nicholas Hoult provided the most substantial spoiler of this batch, in describing how hank McCoy beings his transition into the furry, clawed, blue-tinted Beast. So yeah, spoiler warning.

"He's a young scientist - a very clever guy - but a little bit shy and awkward around the girls and just socially awkward around the group. He's a good guy, but it's hard work for him. He's a great scientist though and he comes up with all of these inventions that sometimes work and sometimes don't, and then he tries out a serum from Mystique's DNA to try and stop his feet from appearing apelike and massive, because he's very self-conscious about it. Unfortunately that goes wrong and he becomes the Beast that we know from the other films and cartoons and comics. It's fascinating to see the difference, when he becomes the Beast, between Hank and this very animalistic and scary-looking character."

Another spoiler comes courtesy of Zoe Kravitz, who plays Angel Salvadore, whose place in the ideological struggle between mutants is less clear than some of Xavier's other goodie-two-shoes students.

"Angel Salvadore is a go-go dancer who can fly. I have a pair of tattooed wings on my back, which turn into insect wings, and I projectile vomit acid. I get to do that a few times. She starts out on the good side with Professor X and Magneto - they recruit her to be an X-Man, and then she switches to Sebastian Shaw's (Kevin Bacon) side to be in Hellfire. I think it's just a different approach to fighting for human equality. Someone compared the two different sides. In this film it's Hellfire and the X-Men, but later it's Xavier and Magneto and someone compared it to Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. They're really fighting for the same thing, but it's different approaches for how to get there. I think she just believes that the aggressive side is the right side."

Finally, there's one of the only non-mutant players in all the homo-superior shenanigans. Rose Byrne is Dr. Moira MacTaggert, Xavier's ally within the CIA whose professional plays into the prequel setting.

"Moira works for the CIA. In the comics she's a genetic, mutant expert scientist, and she was in the third film - Olivia Williams played her - but in this incarnation she works for the CIA and early on gets involved with Charles Xavier, discovering mutants. She knows that he's an expert on genetic mutation, so she seeks him out and they become allies. She's a real pioneer woman. It's set in '62 and she's in the CIA so it's very new for women to have that opportunity. She's working in a pretty misogynistic place, so she's got a lot of guts and she's driven."

For the rest of the character breakdowns, with actors James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Edi Gathegi, Caleb Landry Jones, and Jason Flemyng, just head over to MSN. The first generation of X-Men become involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis in the prequel, directed by Matthew Vaughn, who was previously attached to X-Men: The Last Stand and Thor. X-Men: First Class hits theaters on June 3rd.

New Trailer for 'X-Men: First Class'
Written by Lex Walker
Wednesday, 27 April 2011

I've got to say, every trailer that Matthew Vaughn and his camp puts out for X-Men: First Class goes a little bit further in the right direction to dispelling my initial doubts about the film. Granted, some of the truly crappy posters they release in the meantime make me cringe all over again, but still: Fox has their X-Men: First Class trailers down. This latest one features a lot of repeat clips from earlier trailers, but it also throws in a fair share of new stuff, and helps to explain a few of the really lousy, no-context images Fox has released alongside it all.

X-Men: First Class is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) and stars James McAvoy (Atonement), Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds), Nicholas Hoult (Skins), Jennifer Lawrence (Winters Bone), Rose Byrne (Insidious), Kevin Bacon (Footloose), January Jones (Mad Men), and Jason Flemyng (Jack Falls) in a story following the formative years of the X-Men as Charles Xavier and Eric Lensherr pull together a ragtag mutant force in the midst of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

For the trailer and our thoughts, hit the jump...

There's a whole lot of great, large set pieces that Vaughn is playing around with in this film and it's a wonder it's not being used more in the posters versus the really lame ideas Fox has been spitting out. Even some basic character posters would beat them out. Also worth noting is the Havoc chest beam scene that finally gives a little bit of clarity to this image, which was neither enticing nor all that insightful before:

Additionally, we get a little bit more of Banshee, which is never a bad thing. Honestly though, that final sequence with the missiles launching and the beachfront should be used in more promotional spots. Come on Fox, you have what looks like a solid X-Men film on your hands, don't mismanage the marketing.

Two new trailers for X-Men: First Class
If our current poll is anything to go by then Matthew Vaughn's lycra-clad mutant prequel X-Men: First Class could be the superhero movie to watch out for this summer and with just five weeks to go until the film arrives in cinemas, Fox have decided that it's a good time to hit us with a brand new trailer.

Now we've had snippets of new footage over the past couple of weeks courtesy of international trailers, and while this one starts out the same as the first it's only a matter of time before things get going. Along with more of the Xavier (James McAvoy) / Magneto (Michael Fassbender) story, the new trailer also gives us a look at some of the younger mutants and their powers including Havok (Lucas Till), Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Angel Salvadore (Zoe Kravitz).

It certainly looks like First Class is going to deliver some epic Cold War-era action scenes when it opens this June. Take a look for yourself...

Update: Fox have also released yet another international trailer and again, it features plenty of alternative footage...

X-Men: First Class also stars Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Oliver Platt, Ray Wise, Caleb Landry Jones and Jason Flemyng, and is set to open in the UK on June 2nd with a North American release the following day.

Trailer Park: "X-Men: First Class" (New Full Length Trailer)
By Jaeki Cho, | Apr 27, 2011 | 4:04 pm

It's official: X-Men: First Class is the comic book movie to beat this summer.

In the mutant prequel's latest, and best, trailer, both the plot, which takes place during the Cuban missile crisis, and effects-heavy money-shots are given equal focus. The brewing conflict between young Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) is captured as their views clash on mentoring a circle of young mutants. We can dispute that the latest trailer is a bit spoiler-friendly, but, since it's an origin story and all, fans should already know the outcome before the movie even begins.

And that's perfectly fine when a trailer looks as good as this one. Better than the movie's first look, this preview nicely plays up the '60s vibe, which should distinguish X-Men: First Class from the rest of this summer's superhero fare. Plus, shots of January Jones (and her cleavage) as White Queen and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique prove that director Matthew Vaughn's prequel will also be the hottest fanboy flick to hit within the May-through-August stretch.

So, yeah... We're pretty excited.

X-Men: First Class hits theaters on June 3.

'X-Men: First Class' Gets New Theatrical Trailer [Video]

Seemingly taking a cue from its last batch of mutant-filled international trailers, Fox has released its full theatrical trailer for X-Men: First Class via Yahoo. While its basic blast-from-the-past structure is definitely retained, the full trailer brings a lot more action to the table and shows off the film's young muties better than anything fans have seen to date. Check it out for yourself after the jump.

As usual James McAvoy (Charles Xavier) and Michael Fassbender (Magneto) get most of the spotlight, but there's a much clearer focus on the pair's assemblage of gifted youngsters in their blue and yellow X-duds.

Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Lucas Till (Havok) and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) get a few nice close-ups that demo their mutant powers and kinda/sorta foreshadow the kind of mutants they're destined to become -- or at least which side of the hero/villain line they'll tread closest to.

Also, am I the only one who hits YouTube to get down on some Jock Jams when Charles turns to Erik and asks "Ready for this?" every time one of these promos pops up online? Even if your answer is no, just nod your head. 2 Unlimited, baby!

Full Length 'X-Men: First Class' Theatrical Trailer
Wednesday, 27 April 2011 09:26 Written by Jordan DeSaulnier

Full Length 'X-Men: First Class' Theatrical Trailer

After months of remixed international trailers and tiny glimpses at new mutant action, there's suddenly a full length theatrical trailer for the prequel X-Men: First Class. And it's a doozy. In addition to heaps of new footage showcasing superpowers galore, the new trailer, which premiered at Yahoo! Movies, provides a better idea of the plot, as well as the relationship between James McAvoy's Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender's Erik Lensherr. More importantly, it also focuses on the first class itself, and gives our best look so far at the young outcasts-turned X-Men played by Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, and Caleb Landry Jones. Check out the trailer right here.

Also in the cast, but not officially a part of the first uniformed X-team are Rose Byrne, Zoe Kravitz, and Oliver Platt, as well as Kevin Bacon and January Jones as the villainous Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost.

The film, directed by Kick-Ass helmer Matthew Vaughn, cleverly inserts the first generation of mutants into the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. This real-life episode of nuclear brinksmanship provides some unprecedented stakes for the X-franchise, while also grounding the prequel in an identifiable reality just before mutants become a public phenomenon. In this trailer, I love the centrality of the nuclear standoff with Russia – the Dr. Strangelove-inspired war room is a nice touch, too – but seeing the X-Men assembled for the first time in those yellow-and-blue outfits, well that takes the proverbial cake. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will make their mutual debut as Professor X and Magneto in X-Men: First Class on June 3rd.

New ‘X-Men: First Class’ Trailer Offers More Mutants & Story
Apr 27, 2011 by Rob Keyes

A brand new extended ‘X-Men: First Class’ trailer offers new footage of story elements, characters, mutant powers and more!

New Longer X-Men First Class Trailer

Despite some unimpressive stills, photos and movie posters, the trailers for X-Men: First Class have sold us on Twentieth Century Fox’s attempt at launching another X-Men film series with the help of Bryan Singer and director Matthew Vaughn. The only problem is that all of the X-Men: First Class trailers so far have remained mostly the same.

Enter Yahoo with an exclusive extended trailer to offer something new and different for eager fans and those still debating whether the X-Men prequel is worth seeing compared to its summer superhero counterparts in Thor, Green Lantern and Captain America.

The new trailer runs 2 minutes and 40 seconds and right off the bat, you’ll raise an eyebrow, noticing that the intro and structure of the trailer is exactly the same. Don’t fret, the trailer does offer lots of new goodies, not the least of which is a much deeper look into the story and relationships of X-Men: First Class.

The most interesting elements presented in the added scenes involve more of Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr’s (Michael Fassbender) debating of philosophies, them discussing their young team of newfound mutant friends and their readiness for action, and lastly, the decision on the best way to introduce mutants to the world. Lehnsherr/Magneto and his horrifying history with the Nazis leaves him to believe mutants will be shunned, even though in his mind they are superior -whereas Charles/Professor X believes they should put their lives on the line to help stop a war, thus earning the trust of the world.

The extended trailer also looks at the supporting cast of mutants and their powers, showing off more of Havok’s energy blast, Angel Salvadore’s wings, Banshee’s underwater sonic scream and Beast’s transformation into the lovable blue fur ball. More importantly, we finally get to see and hear Raven Darkholme/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Hank McCoy/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) actually speak.

While we are offered more of the political slant of the X-Men: First Class 1960s era story and many more shots of the “First Class” of X-Men mutants, the studio is still holding back on the Hellfire Club aspect of the plot, specifically the characters of Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost. Perhaps that’ll be the focus of the final theatrical trailer as we edge closer to the film’s release, or better yet, maybe they’re keeping that a surprise to enjoy in theaters.

The X-Men: First Class cast includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Jason Flemyng, Zoë Kravitz, Lucas Till, Oliver Platt, Ray Wise, Edi Gathegi, Caleb Landry Jones and Álex González.

X-Men: First Class hits theaters June 3rd, 2011 and I’ll be there.

More Talk, Less Action In New X-Men: First Class Trailer
published: 2011-04-27 11:21:54 Author: Eric Eisenberg

The marketing for X-Men: First Class thus far has been fairly disappointing. From the horrendous Photoshop disasters they call posters to the repetitious trailers, the whole marketing plan seems to be based on the idea that because it's an X-Men movie people will come no matter what. Come June 3 we'll see if that strategy has paid off.

Yahoo! has launched a new trailer for the Matthew Vaughn-directed comic book movie, which serves as a prequel to the events of the Bryan Singer/Brett Ratner trilogy. In the film, Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), who will later become Professor X, starts up a friendship with fellow mutant Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender). Starting the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, they find themselves growing apart as they begin to start seeing the world differently.

Check out the new X-Men: First Class trailer below.

While I know a lot of you are going to disagree, I actually liked this trailer more than any of the others. At its core the X-Men franchise has always been about segregation and prejudice, and this new look demonstrates that better than any of the others. Obviously this makes it appeal more to the comic book fans, but that's an important section of the audience. There are some action moments for those wishing that this was a Michael Bay movie, but I think this is a much better direction for the marketing, particularly in light of how everything else has gone.

In other X-Men related news, THR reports that a dispute has been settled behind the scenes of the film, as the Writers Guild of America has determined the writing credits on the film. According to the guild, Sheldon Turner and Bryan Singer will be getting story credits for the movie, while Ashley Miller, Zack Stentz, Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn will be getting screenplay credits. The strange thing about the story is that Josh Schwartz and Jamie Moss - the first writers assigned to the project - were completely left out and Turner was included despite never taking a pass with the script (he received credit because his script for X-Men Origins: Magneto was morphed and changed to fit into First Class).

Watch The New 'X-Men: First Class' Trailer April 27, 2011

Comic geeks and mutant aficionados, join me for a nerdgasm over the latest trailer for X-Men: First Class. The movie acts as a prelude to the lycra-costumed mutant world as we know it, and heads back to the 1960s amidst the Cold War when Professor X and Magneto were just Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) - two close pals discovering their mutant powers before forming their famous rivalry based on a fundamental opposition of beliefs. There's so many layers within the film to symbolise the catastrophic impact of conflicts born from contrasting social ideologies: Communism vs Democracy; Western beliefs vs Eastern; Mutants vs Humans; Mutants vs Mutants. But more importantly there's heaps of cool mutant powers and blowing s$#! up.

The cast also boats January Jones, Rose Byrne, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult and Oliver Platt. X-Men: First Class is set to open in the US on June 3.

X-Men: First Class

I'm all in on this movie. This is the international trailer which for some reason is better than the U.S. trailer. I thought America was the greatest country in the world? I can't get enough of the music used in this - gotta hunt it down. This movie better be good! It has Michael Fassbender and Rose Byrne - how can it be bad? I'm geeking out over the classic X-Men suits too!

Magneto is a Really Angry Guy in the New ‘X-Men: First Class’ Theatrical Trailer
28 April 2011 Eric Kwun

Hey 20th Century Fox! How is it that you can create some of the WORST movie posters EVER made, yet you are still able to create such an awesome trailer for ‘X-Men: First Class’? This brand spankin’ new trailer just reinforces my belief that ‘X-Men: First Class’ might be the sleeper of the year (in the category of comic based movies). While everyone is talking about ‘Thor’ and ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, not much thought is being given for Matthew Vaughn’s little movie. A lot of people were concerned about the new storyline and how it will work out, but from the looks of it, the action, special effects, and story seems to be top notch. It also helps that Michael Fassbender is so damn ruggedly handsome. I’m not going to go and analyze this trailer, because I want you to check it out and make up your own minds. Whats the point of reviewing a trailer?

Full trailer for X-Men: First Class hits the world wide webs

I’m not too big on the X-Men franchise of films in general, so I was never excited for Fox’s idea to make origin movies for some of the major characters. We’ve seen one of them already, the dreadful X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was supposed to be followed by X-Men Origins: Magneto. It looks like they essentially made that movie and just renamed it X-Men: First Class (thankfully dropping that stupid “origins” tag from the already wordy title). Sure this movie is about the first bunch of mutants that comprised this superhero group, and it’s about the origins of Charles Xavier, who leads the mutants for decades and grows up to look like Captain Picard, but it’s pretty obvious that the role of Magneto/Erik Lehnsherr is the centerpiece of the story, and in the end it’s gonna be Michael Fassbender’s show. This guy is threatening to break out in a pretty big way, and this may do it. You might already recognize him from his small but strong roles in Inglourious Basterds and 300, but after his turn as Magneto, he’s gonna be everywhere. Just wait and see. Calling it, right here.

The trailer is available right here at Yahoo.

Trailer: In one month and fifty years ago, the X-Men: First Class return to the theaters to join the Cold War.

It is somewhat easy to forget about the new X-Men movie coming this summer. Sandwiched in-between Thor and Captain America, both of which belong to The Avengers continuity, the prequel film from director Mathew Vaughn (Stardust, Kick-Ass) hasn’t received quite the PR blitz that its Marvel counterparts have—or its DC rival, Green Lantern, for that matter–although that should change in the next few weeks.

But of all the upcoming superhero films, few offer as unique a look at the subject material as X-Men: First Class. Set in the 1960’s during the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the movie offers the origins of the original X-Men as they face off against The Hellfire Club, and perhaps the Commies.

The second full-length trailer below gives a bit more detail on the nature of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Xavier’s (James McAvoy) relationship, and what the coming of the mutants means to the world. X-Men: First Class hits theaters on June 3.

The New X-Men: First Class Trailer Features More Teenage Mutants,

by Shannon Vestal
April 27, 2011 2:56 pm / Read More: Movie Preview, X-Men, X-Men First Class

I was already psyched when the original X-Men: First Class trailer debuted, and now that there's a longer preview, my excitement is getting pretty out of control. Like the first trailer, we see lots of young Magneto and Professor X (Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy) — but this time, there's an equal focus on the youthful students of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters.

This means more footage of Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok, and so on. You also get to hear more angsty dialogue (being a teenage mutant kind of sucks, guys) and see a little bit of romance between Lawrence and Hoult. To watch the new preview, just read more.

Two new trailers for ‘X-Men: First Class’ reveal new footage!

There’s only a month or so between us and Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men prequel ‘First Class’ and today sees the arrival of not one but two new trailers.

The first of the two is the last full U.S. trailer to debut before the June 3rd release date. There’s more of the relationship between Erik (Michael Fassbender) and Charles (James McAvoy) and new sequences during the Cuba campaign that feature some impressive special effects. There’s also more of the team, including some sweet shots of Banshee, Beast and Mystique.

I’m enjoying the interplay between the actors and the emotional beats in this particular trailer. There’s a story to tell here and Vaughn seems to have grasped the tone, something that it took Singer at least one film to grasp and Ratner missed completely.

The second trailer is an international trailer and does a better job of demonstrating the dramatic context for the film. Both highlight the action scenes, but the second one is the first footage to actually make excited for the movie on a story level.

I’m also looking forward to seeing current indie darling Lawrence take on a genre role like Mystique, and Fassbender’s Magneto looks more compelling with each new scene revealed.

New 'X-Men: First Class' Trailer Is Wonderfully Mutated (Trailer)
Published: April 27, 2011 @ 6:48 pm

By Tim Kenneally

At the rate that trailers for the upcoming comic-book adaptation "X-Men: First Class" are being released, the entire movie will most likely be available in piecemeal form before it hits theaters on June 3. But with anticipation for the movie running sky-high among superhero enthusiasts, it's hard to blame 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios for stoking the pre-release flames as much as they can.

The seventh international trailer for the Matthew Vaughn-directed movie descended on the Internet today, offering an extended glimpse of how James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, January Jones and the rest of the cast will tackle the roles of Professor Charles Xavier and his merry band of genetic anomalies.

Check out the video to unleash your inner mutant.

Another First Class Trailer Shows What Looks Like A Good X-Men Prequel Is On The Way
April 27, 2011 | by The Infamous Billy The Kidd

The WayThe more I see of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, the more I believe that we actually have a fantastic X-Men prequel coming our way this summer… and you know how much I hate prequels.

However, it’s the interaction and chemistry between James McAvoy (Charles Xavier/Professor X) and Michael Fassbender (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto) that is really drawing me into this story about the beginnings of their relationship, most notably the construction of their friendship and the philosophical divide that will eventually lead to its fracture.

We get a little more of Beast and Mystique this time around, and we get a little longer look at January Jones as Emma Frost, looking good in all her cleavage-ness but not as good when it comes time to get all diamond-y. But the benefit FIRST CLASS has is that the story is really going to take center stage to the point that the action and effects may seem like a bit of an afterthought. Oh, sure… it’s still an X-Men movie, but this isn’t Bryan Singer’s X-MEN, and it’s certainly not Brett Ratner’s either. This is all about the choice that mutants will have to make in the future, between using their abilities for good or for evil… and I’m really digging the Cuban Missile Crisis device that they’ve placed upon Xavier, in order to justify why mutants should be and maybe will be accepted.

Out of all the big summer movies that are coming our way over the next few months, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS may not be at the top, but it’s certainly close… and that’s something I never expected to say about an X-MEN origin story after WOLVERINE.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS new International trailer has footage not seen in U.S. version

Good Lord, when it rains X-MEN FIRST CLASS news, it apparently pours. There’s another new X-MEN FIRST CLASS trailer, a new International version, which shows even more new scenes not featured in even the latest U.S. version. Granted, almost all of these trailers look roughly the same, but with new shots peppered throughout. ComingSoon premiered this one, which gives us glimpses of Ray Wise and the great Michael Ironside. The film stars Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havoc, Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, Oliver Platt as “Man in black”, and Ray Wise as Secretary of State of the United States. Check out the trailer and tell us your thoughts in the comments.
