Movie Trailer for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Here it is, gang! The first great-looking movie trailer for Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class! We've been waiting to see this for a long time, just so we can get a taste of what Vaughn has created. I don't know about you, but I'm 100% sold on its awesomeness!

Official Plot Synopsis:

X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

The films stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon.

Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think!

TRAILER - XMEN FIRST CLASS
Right now the nerd in me is screaming “WHEEEE. I’m so excited seeing the new trailer of “XMEN: FIRST CLASS” via Gawker. It looks really good. The movie revolves around the friendship between Charles Xavier, Professor X played by James McAvoy and Eric Lensherr, Magneto played by Michael Fassbender.

Set during 1960,s it also shows how the mutant school was built. It also stars Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, the antagonist of the movie. Other cast members include January Jones as Emma Frost / White Queen, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, and Nicholas Hoult as young Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast

First Class is scheduled for release on June 3, 2011.

First Trailer For X-Men: First Class Finally Arrives Online

By Eric Eisenberg
From http://www.cinemablend.com/

For as little we’ve seen of Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, neither compares to X-Men: First Class. Set to be released on June 3, we’ve been limited thus far to a couple of screenshots and a teaser poster. That changes today.

As first announced yesterday, Fox has launched the first trailer for the Matthew Vaughn superhero film on their official Facebook page. Set decades before Bryan Singer’s first X-Men movie, X-Men: First Class tells the story of the bond between Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) before they became Professor X and Magneto.

Check out the trailer below.

For a long day of waiting, that was not too shabby a payoff. I like how the pacing builds and shows off the characters before getting into the action and more fast-paced stuff. The biggest issue, is context. While you can make an argument that this is a teaser, those who haven't been keeping up on news about the film will have no idea who these new players are. The money shot with Magneto lifting the submarine, however, is pretty damn cool. Tell us what you think in the comments section and for more about X-Men: First Class, head on over to our Blend Film Database

For high-res, detailed screencaps from the trailer (containing more than a few surprises) go here.

Trailers: X-Men: First Class (Teaser)

Posted by Andrew Robinson on 2/11/11

Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, Stardust) has decided to make his X-Men movie where it’s about the early years of the comic series and it’s set in the 60s (which is when the comic book premiered).

Synopsis: Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-MEN.

So there was one word made for trailers like this…. AWESOME. Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy decided to be superheroes and I can’t imagine this movie being bad. I just want to see Fassbender running through a room and kicking ass by bending metal into guards like you get a tease of in the trailer.

It’ll take us through the relationship between Erik ad Charles and it’ll actually make me forget about the horribleness of X-Men: The Last Stand and adding the fact that Aronofsky is doing the next Wolverine movie means that X-Men might be redeemed.

What do you think of the trailer?

Trailer Alert: "X-Men First Class"

For all that know me, you know I am a HUGE fan of two cartoon/comic book series Transformers and X-Men. I was hoping to see both trailers on Super Bowl Sunday, but it didn't work that way. However, on this past Thursday, the X-Men: First Class trailer was revealed. Check it out below:

Directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass), X-Men: First Class hits theaters on June 3rd. The film will star James McAvoy (as Professor Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt, Kevin Bacon and more; this movie is definitely going to be in the competition for this summer's biggest blockbusters. And for refresher sake, some of the mutants you'll probably recognize from previous installments (like Mystique), and as a bonus we will get to learn more about mutants like Beast, Havoc and Emma Frost.

So what do you think? Can't wait for this summer!!

‘X Men: First Class’ Trailer. It’s Good. It’s Bad-Ass Good.
By Kelly Lynch / February 11, 2011 7:00 am

The trailer for X Men: First Class has been unveiled, and even if the movie turns out to be a flop, at least we’ll have these two minutes of glory to carry us through the summer. Images of Michael Fassbender (new crush) and James McAvoy splash across our screens as we listen to President Kennedy‘s Cuban Missile Crisis address. Now THIS is a trailer. Check out the video after the jump to see what I’m talkin’ boot.

X-Men: First Class and the comic book heroes of 2011
Posted by Richard Gray on February 11th, 2011

http://www.thereelbits.com/01002

X-Men: First Class poster2011 has already been hotting up as the year of the superhero film, with some of the biggest names in the business set for a remake, reboot or sequel. Indeed, it’s only February, and we’ve already had one blockbuster comic book adaptation in the form of Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet. As we saw from the Super Bowl commercials last week, the battle will continue throughout the year as Captain America: The First Avenger fights for freedom, the Green Lantern polices the galaxy and Thor brings down the mighty hammer of Odin. With so many to see, how are our anticipation levels reading for these fabulous films of 2011?

X-Men: First Class

Today, Twentieth Century Fox released the first trailer for the highly anticipated X-Men: First Class. Although this will be the fourth film in the franchise to date – following X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand and the atrocious Wolverine - this prequel has got fans in an uncanny buzz. Director Matthew Vaughn, who has already popped his comic cherry on Kick-Ass and its forthcoming sequel, should bring back the sense of frenetic energy that X-fans have been craving since Bryan Singer’s high-octane second installment in 2003.

Then there’s the cast: James McAvoy (Gnomeo & Juliet) takes on the role of a young Professor Charles Xavier, a role made famous by the venerable Patrick Stewart. Meanwhile, Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) has his own big shoes to fill replacing Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto. The awarded actors are certainly up to the task, and boy are they accompanied by a terrific cast: Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Australia’s Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man), Jennifer Lawrence and Oliver Platt just to name a few. If that’s not enough to convince you, then script is co-written by Kick-Ass scribe Jane Goldman. You will be seeing this film.

As you can see from the trailer itself, this is an origin of the famous team set during the Cold War era of the 1960s, complete with Cuban Missile Crisis, younger versions of familiar characters and a few new ones to boot. Most notably, Golden-Globe nominee January Jones (Mad Men) joins the cast as Emma Frost, another telepath with the ability to create thought projections. There also seems to be some kind of fairy creature that Charles and Erik visit in what can only be described as a David Lynch-style red room. If Michael J. Anderson turns up, it could be the greatest film ever made. (X-Men: First Class is out in Australia on 2 June, 2011 from Twentieth Century Fox).

The Reel Bits IconThe Reel Bits: It’s going to be spandex city this year, with a plethora of heroes vying for your coin. Based on what we’ve seen so far, our money is on X-Men: First Class and Captain America: The First Avenger being the must-see superhero titles of 2011.

Also, since a bunch of other people are linking it, X-Men First Class, trailer. I didn't think I was going to be that excited after the promos pictures but I actually think that trailer's pretty great. Though a lot of that is due to Michael Fassbender being in it.

X-Men: The First Class Debut Trailer, Movie Out 6/3/11

By Jason Joseph at February 10, 2011 | 9:53 pm | Print

This is going to be a massive year for Marvel movies, with Captain America and Thor already set to hit the big screen and already making waves. Sandwiched between the two, though, will be another Marvel movie that is looking like it will be every bit as deserving of our attention. I haven’t really been all that excited about X-Men: The First Class so far, but after checking out the debut trailer for the film, I most certainly am now. The movie is set to feature Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsher long before the became Professor X or Magneto. Xavier will be played by James McAvory, while Michael Fassbender is looking like an outstanding choice as a young Magneto. I was a big fan of Fassbender in Inglorious Basterds, and he certainly looks ready to steal the show here. As far as trailers go, this one definitely does an outstanding job of creating a very dark and gritty beginning for the team, and should explain how everyone managed to get to where they would. January Jones as Emma Frost? Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw? Hank McCoy, Raven Darkholme, Alex Summers, lots of interesting names attached to the movie, and even though we won’t be seeing many of the X-Men most people know and love, this is looking like it could be the best movie to wear the name X-Men without them. Look for X-Men: The First Class in theaters June 3rd, 2011.

Watch X-Men: First Class Official Trailer
by hardcherry on Thursday, February 10th, 2011

X-Men: First Class brings viewers back in 1960s when the world doesn’t know the existence of mutants. At that time, mutants are unknown to each other too. We will find the origins of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) before they walk in different ways and become Professor X and Magneto, standing on the opposite sides of the mutant-humant conflict.

The X-Men: First Class official trailer is not too different from the leaked version of the trailer described about a month ago. It is a great thing, indeed, because the leaked version of the X-Men: First Class trailer was so amazing.

Well, the trailer is amazing then, but what about the final outcome? Let’s hope the X-Man: First Class really shows the characters of first class movie.

X-Men: First Class Trailer & Images
February 11th, 2011 | Author: jannat

Two weeks ago the first official look at the cast of X-Men: First Class hit the net in what can only be described as a messy concoction of negative reactions, even from the director of the film, who did not approve of the amateur photoshop work.

Matthew Vaughn did his best to spin something positive out of the situation, by talking about the film’s story, characters and costumes, while releasing some better images (actual stills) from the film. While Vaughn made a good effort to paint the film in a better light, inevitably our best measure of this film is going to come from the official X-Men: First Class trailer.

While they started off the marketing on the wrong foot, and while the film is being rushed to make its critical Summer release date, the fifth installment in Twentieth Century Fox’s X-Men franchise looks to rectify the mistakes of the previous two films (X-Men 3 and Wolverine) and re-launch the series in a new (and hopefully better) direction.

X-Men: First Class pulls viewers back in time to the 1960s when mutants are unknown to the world and for the most part, to each other, as we discover the origins of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) before they part ways and end up on opposite sides of the human-mutant conflict, becoming Professor X and Magneto, respectively.

Surprisingly, the video is actually not too different from the leaked X-Men: First Class trailer description from a month ago, which is a good thing, as what was described sounded pretty amazing. Now we know that it looks amazing as well, but how telling is it of the final product? I remember getting excited about the trailers for X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, only to be let down twice.

X-Men: First Class – Trailer
Movie Review | Sushil | February 10, 2011 at 7:44 pm

X-Men: First Class - Trailer
After a day of drama on Facebook, the X-Men: First Class trailer has made its debut. In an attempt to harness social media, Fox decided that the trailer would appear on the X-Men Facebook page first, only to then switch the launch time on everyone waiting, making a great number of fans very angry. Thousands of unhappy comments appeared on the page, from kids who were waiting behind at school to see it, to people in the UK who wanted to go to bed. After generating a lot of bad will, the trailer finally went up, and you know what, it’s pretty good -

On course then to be the thoughtful, well-acted movie we’re hoping for. Michael Fassbender as Magneto looks like he’s going to own. I would have liked to have seen more of Kevin Bacon as the villain, but then there’s another, longer trailer to come.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass), the fifth X-Men movie in 11 years focuses on the relationship between Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto, and on the origin of their groups – the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. As you can see, it’s set during the swinging 60s. The cast also includes January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence and Lucas Till.

X-Men: First Class will be released on June 3, unless it’s late. Fox envisions this film as the first in a new trilogy.

This looks intriguing! I like director Matthew Vaughn's work ("Stardust," "Kick-Ass," "Layer Cake"), so I have great faith that this film will be good, at least better than the last entry into the franchise, "X-Men: The Last Stand," from director Brett Ratner (I'm not counting the "Wolverine" film since it's an Origins franchise). Plus, Bryan Singer aided in writing the script so you know this will have pathos.

But in the end, the crux of the "X-Men" movies is the relationship between Magneto and Professor X, and two great actors are playing the roles namely Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy.

I'm getting ready to interview Fassbender for the breathtaking "Jane Eyre" so I'll ask him a little sneak peek on "X-Men: First Class." I'll keep y'all posted!

For now, watch the trailer for "X-Men: First Class"

X-MEN: First Class trailer arrives!

The wait is over. The first trailer for the X-Men: First Class has finally hit the web. 20th Century Fox sure did make us wait the entire day for it, but it was worth it. I admit it: I am a sucker for superhero films, but the X-Men franchise is the best of all. The trailer, also available at the films Facebook page, includes most of the main cast and a few action scenes. I seriously cannot wait to see it. How about you? Are you intrigued to see a X-Men film, not directed by Bryan Singer and not including Hugh Jackman? See the trailer below and decide.

X-MEN: First Class opens on June 3rd and it features James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz, Bill Bilner and Kevin Bacon.

THIS JUST IN! X-Men: First Class trailer is finally here!

February 10, 2011 by rtm

I’ve had the X-Men Facebook page up all day long but it’s been a hectic day filled w/ meetings. But when I hit refresh a few minutes ago, voila!! You already know how much I’ve been anticipating this and was hoping this was released during the Superbowl. But now it’s finally here! I don’t want to keep you a moment longer, so behold…

Looks like they’ve also released the official logo, which is the same as the one I posted with the still photos I posted earlier this month.

The Plot:

My initial reaction is OMG! Holy goosebumps!!! I’m really digging the tone that Matthew Vaughn’s done for this film, this certainly promises greatness that Bryan Singer brought with the first ever X-Men film 11 years ago (boy, time flies doesn’t it?) It’s perfect casting to have James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Professor X and Magneto. I’m glad the film is focusing on the dynamics between the two and how the most bitter enemies sometimes start out as friends. The rest of the cast is pretty good, too: Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence (one of this year’s Best Actress nominees for Winter’s Bone), Rose Byrne, Kevin Bacon and January Jones.

I absolutely CAN’T WAIT to see this one. Now, what do you all think?

Trailer Time: X-men First Class, starring James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender

Well the wait is finally over. 20th Century Fox have released the first trailer for Matthew Vaughn's X-men: First Class, telling the origins of the war for mutant supremacy between Professor Charles Xavier(James McAvoy) and Magneto(Michael Fassbender). The film goes back to the days before the two became enemies and were merely friends with a dream to secure the future of their race. Check out the trailer for X-men: First Class below...

So I've watched it a few times now, and I like the way the words of John F. Kennedy are weaved throughout. In the comics, Xavier and Kennedy are presented as being very similar figures, transformative to the entire country in a number of ways. I also dug how clips from the later films are used to show their progression into the characters we're familiar with. Other than that, there's not a lot of meat to it, although the bit with Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw was inspired stuff. The old school Blackbird fighter jet was pretty slick, also. Basically, I hope this trailer puts some of the critics to bed. It actually looks like it could be a damn good movie and a welcome addition to the X-men family of flicks. It's still the superhero movie I'm most looking forward to.

X-men: First Class is set to hit theaters on June 3rd 2011!

Today, as promised, the first teaser trailer for "X-Men: First Class" has been released. Now I wasn't quite sure what this film would be until I saw this. And now all I can say is I literally cannot wait. This looks incredible. It looks like a film that will bring back what we all loved about the first two X-Men movies. With Matthew Vaughn and stars like James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender on board, this is yet another summer film I'm looking forward to. Can't wait.

'X-Men: First Class' Trailer Hits the Web
By James Wortman

I’ll come right out and say it: I haven’t been paying all that much attention to Fox’s X-Men: First Class, set to debut in theaters on June 3. After the disastrous X-Men: The Last Stand and the downright idiotic X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I doubt this franchise can be salvaged at this point, but director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) is nevertheless making an attempt to do just that. If he fails, the number of bad X-Men movies will officially outweigh the good ones.

Set in the 1960s during the Cuban Missile Crisis, X-Men: First Class recounts the formation of the legendary mutant superhero team. Of course, central to the story is the burgeoning rivalry between Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender). Other characters appearing in the prequel include Beast, Mystique, Havok and Emma Frost (played ever-so-seductively by Mad Men’s January Jones).

Marvel.com posted the first trailer for the film earlier this week, and I have to say that it looks somewhat promising. The shattered relationship between Xavier and Magneto has always been the cornerstone of the X-Men mythos in any of its incarnations, and as long as the film is semi-coherent, it’ll be a step up from Wolverine.

Watch: X-Men: First Class trailer

Just unveiled over at Facebook, the X-MEN: FIRST CLASS trailer is here. Directed by Matthew Vaughn (STARDUST, KICK-ASS) and staring James McEvoy, Michael Fassbender, January Jones, and a cast of thousands, it’s a retcon showing the origins of the mutant team in the ’60s, starring young Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. The original X-MEN: FIRST CLASS comic was written by Jeff Parker, but it hasn’t been explained how much of an influence it had on filmmakers.

This is miles better than the dreadfully boring stills that were previously released; Vaughn knows his superhero stuff and how to give it some life. Our one big beef: This does not look like it was set in the ’60s! Some JFK voice-overs do not a different decade make! Have they never seen Mad Men? Or A SIMPLE MAN? Or…the British Avengers.

X-Men: First Class Trailer Is Pretty Awesome

’Tis the season for superhero action flicks. And from Marvel Studios alone this year, we’ll have three: Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and this one, X-Men: First Class.

First Class is set years before the events of the original X-Men film trilogy and focuses on a young Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto). The trailer, released just days ago seems pretty cool. But then, how many times have we watched awesome trailers only to be disappointed by the full-length film?

Anyways, check it out and see for yourself:

X-Men: First Class opens 3 June and stars James McAvoy (as Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), January Jones (White Queen), Kevin Bacon (Sebastian Shaw) and 20-year-old 2011 Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

X Men – First Class…Kevin Bacon, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender
By cellardoorfam

June 3rd 2011 is when the long awaited X Men: First Class hits our screens. It’s set in the 1960s and stars our very own James McAvoy (The Last King of Scotland) who plays Professor X and Micheal Fassbender as Magneto but… the centre piece of this will revolve around Kevin Bacon who takes on the role of the leader of the Hell Fireclub, the apparent ‘bad guys’ in this film.

Have a gander at the trailer:

I ain’t gonna harp on anymore about this movie since I’m not overly a fan of reviews (since Empire’s review of Matrix Revelations!!)

02.11.2011 its the X-Men: First Class trailer

Once you get used to the idea of an X-Men movie set in 1962 against the Cuban Missile Crisis, and James McAvoy (Wanted) as Professor X and Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds) as Magneto, this thing actually looks pretty good (little bigger 1080 copy here). It has a cool style. Like Mad Men if Don Draper could move s$#! with his mind.

Director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) takes the reigns of the X-Men franchise, riding along Bryan Singer, to bring us a revamp with a younger Charles Xavier (McAvoy) and a younger Magneto (Fassbender), two friends discovering what they can achieve with their powers, and how those powers set their respective paths with other mutants.

The film also stars recent Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone), January Jones (Mad Men), Rose Byrne (Damages), Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy, A Single Man) and Kevin Bacon.

Now that is something we can get behind.

X-Men: First Class Trailer Hits YouTube [Video]

Posted by admin on February 13, 2011

If you like Cold War-flavored, comic book-inspired action flicks (and who doesn’t?), here’s something to kick off your weekend.

We’ve got a long wait until the theatrical premiere of the next X-Men installment from the Marvel comic universe, X-Men: First Class, but here’s a sneak peak at what the film will entail, courtesy of a 2-minute YouTube trailer.

According to accompanying text, we learn that the new movie in the successful comic-to-silver-screen franchise “charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga and reveals a secret history of famous global events.

“Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.”

The film, which won’t be in theaters until June 3, 2011, is seen by Fox as both a prequel to the three primary X-Men films and as he beginning on a new trilogy.

X-Men: First Class is produced by Bryan Singer, directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars James McAvoy as the young Professor; Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr, who becomes Magneto; Kevin Bacon as villain Sebastian Shaw; and January Joness Emma Frost. Principal photography took place in London.

X-Men: First Class is the fifth in the X-Men film series, which includes X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Will you be going to see the new X-Men film when it’s in theaters?
